Demand for Crypto ETFs on the Rise Among Investors
In a recent report by Charles Schwab, nearly half of all investors surveyed expressed their intent to invest in Digital asset Exchange-traded funds (ETFs), showcasing a growing interest in the American Crypto products. The report highlighted the shifting landscape of Investment preferences among different demographics, including millennials and boomers.
Key Findings from the Report:
- 45% of respondents plan to invest in digital assets via ETFs in the next year, up from 38% the previous year.
- Investors are showing greater interest in a variety of sectors and styles, with a particular focus on cryptocurrencies.
- ETFs offer a popular investment vehicle that tracks the Price of underlying assets like gold, foreign currencies, Bitcoin, and Tech stocks.
The approval of 11 Bitcoin exchange-traded funds by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in January marked a significant milestone for the industry. This green light, after a decade of denials, resulted in a Surge of capital into the Market, driving Bitcoin's price to hit a new all-time high of $73,737 in March.
Moreover, in a surprising move in May, the SEC approved eight Ethereum equivalents, expanding the range of investment options for Crypto enthusiasts in the U.S. Previously, investors were limited to crypto futures ETFs only.
Demographic Insights:
According to the Charles Schwab report, millennials are leading the charge when it comes to investing in crypto ETFs, with 62% of potential buyers falling in this category. In comparison, only 44% were from Generation X, and a mere 15% were boomers.
The survey included 2,200 individual investors aged between 25 and 75, each having at least $25,000 in investable assets.
